Bethesda's State Cup teams allow players to participate in the Maryland State Cup while also participating in various tournaments and showcase events. Teams will compete in NAL & EDP at a level that enables the players to be challenged and successful.  Our State Cup teams focus on creating an environment where players can grow, develop, and improve as they continue to learn the game. A balanced approach to winning, competing, and developing allows the players to be introduced to several positions, systems, and formations so that every individual will become a complete soccer player.

Players U16 levels and above will also be exposed to college recruiting and scouting and participate in Showcase and tournaments. To review some of the resources available to your player, please visit our BSC Pathway page.

What is NAL?

Founded in 2022, the first edition of the National Academy Championships had 68 teams from the country's top academy clubs who participate in the MLS Next Platform compete across three age groups (U16-U19) for the opportunity to be crowned national champion.

The success of that event launched the  National Academy League, where our teams play and compete after the high school season.

NAL Schedule

  • U12-U14 20 games over ten months
  • U15-U19 9 games over five months
  • 3-4 Showcases
  • State Cup & Regionals (if qualified)
